For a long, continuous route that takes in the North Somerset Levels and the Mendip Hills NL, head for the 13-mile North Yatton-East Cheddar stretch of the Strawberry Line. The 3.5-mile section from east of Wells to Dulcote offers ancient woodland and spectacular hillside views of Wells Cathedral. Fledgling sections at Westbury sub Mendip and Shepton Mallet tantalise the active traveller with a vision of a kinder, greener future. As well as 1.5-mile on quiet lanes between Draycott and Rodney Stoke . All routes are wheelchair-friendly, with a hard all-weather surface and shallow gradients. The single exception to this is a fairly steep lane (Racurium Cottage) at Axbridge.

Yatton – Cheddar

The famous 13-mile walk, wheel or cycle that’s been in place for decades having been extended at either end in the last year. Covering rolling hillsides, medieval towns and villages, nationally significant wetlands, sprawling cider orchards, a railway heritage centre and a railway tunnel, this trail really has it all. From Lampley Road, north Yatton through to Petruth Paddocks, Cheddar; from where we hope to extend eastwards towards Draycott and beyond.

Draycott - Rodney Stoke

1.5-mile of quiet lanes between Draycott and Rodney Stoke; from Latches Lane through to Honeyhurst Lane, via Milking Lane and Brangay Lane.

Westbury sub Mendip – Easton

A 1.25-mile section opened in in two stages in December 2022 and September 2023, this mile-long path connects Lodge Hill at Westbury sub Mendip with Easton village hall, making use of the reinforced road bridge to pass safely under the treacherous A371. A further short 1/4-mile extension to the east of Easton was added in 2024.

West to Central Shepton Mallet

Only a 1,5-mile long section at present but promising to grow considerably from 2026. Currently from Whitstone Road to Ridge Road, via a stunning new bridge. With plans to extended eastwards towards Dulcote.

Haybridge – Dulcote Hill

A 3.5-mile section that takes in ancient woodland, several wildflower meadows and spectacular views of Wells Cathedral. For walkers, there are many ways of incorporating this path into a wider loop using adjoining footpaths, see the map for details. From Haybridge, via Wells to Churchill Batch Lane, Dulcote.
