Westbury sub Mendip – Easton

Draycott - Rodney Stoke

Sadly, there are no car parks near the path, but there is limited on-street parking at Station Road in Westbury SM and Ebbor Lane in Easton. Please take care and park responsibly. Currently 1.25-miles in length.

Visitors can enjoy the short ¼ mile extension to the east of Ebbor Lane that links for pedestrians (only) to an existing public footpath onto Haybridge and Ebbor Gorge.

The entire path is for suitable wheelchair users, and open to equestrians, with the gradient never exceeding 1:20 and the all-weather surface reliably firm, dry and flat.

Visitors to Draycott will find on-street parking around the Strawberry Special Inn, on the section to Rodney Stoke that uses quiet lanes. Currently 1.5-miles in length.

Access

Two villages – finally connected

The section from Station Road, Westbury SM to Erlon Lane was opened on Christmas Eve 2022, and the section from Erlon Lane to Easton village hall was opened to much celebration in September 2023. The final short 1/4-mile extension in Easton was added in 2024. More recently a nature reserve has been added halfway along this route at Hollybrook, with great views over the levels from the top of the old embankment.

This is complimented by a 1.5-mile route from Latches Lane, Draycott past the Strawberry Special Inn and the last two remaining strawberry producers through to the Rodney Stoke Church on Honeyhurst Lane. This interim route makes good use of local quiet lanes.
